An Iraq war veteran, Newman was the director of clinical research in emergency medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan.  Newman has since been fired, hospital officials confirm.  Authorities  initially arrested Newman in January  after a woman claimed he had drugged, groped and masturbated on her, according to a criminal complaint obtained by PEOPLE.  Newman has been indicted on one count of first-degree sexual abuse and four counts of third-degree sexual abuse, Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R.
