The Governor Who Refused To Be Cowed By An "Alternative Fact" Government
by SARAH SIEGEL , POPSUGAR On Jan. 24, California Governor Jerry Brown targeted the Trump Administration during his State of the State address. In his speech, Brown said that no one knows what the administration will do, but that there are some disturbing signs, including what he views as the attack on science, truth, and civility. He mocked the now infamous "alternative facts" term coined by Kellyanne Conway, saying that we've seen "the bold assertion of alternative facts; whatever those are" and warned that Californians must prepare for uncertain times. Trump has been an outspoken critic of immigrants, a large population in California's population. Brown reassured his constituents that he would use protective measures for undocumented immigrants.
