THE NEED FOR IMPROVEMENT
THE NEED FOR IMPROVEMENT
By OkechukwuOkugo
NEW YORK – The universe is never static despite its
staggering complexities. The galaxy where our earth exists is called the Milky
Way galaxy. Our sun is one out of over a 100 billion stars that exist in this singular
galaxy. Yet our universe contains more
than 50 billion galaxies each with billions of stars like our sun. What is
amazing with our universe is not the intricacies of these uncountable number of
galaxies with their stars but the fact that they are all in constant motion.
Thus we are living in an expanding universe.
Theearth is at an ideal distance from the sun, despite the
fact that it rotates on its axis once a day, it also orbits the sun in a
circular course. As we can see, the Earth we live in, itself is in constant
motion.
Till today more galaxies and planets are still discovered.
New amazing animals never seen before and plants are still discovered. Everyday
man finds out that the information he had yesterday becomes outdated tomorrow.
The more we know in any field, the more we come to find out how little we had
known before.
Then the question now is since we are living in an expanding
universe, am I sure amexpanding in my knowledge? Do I still operate today with
the knowledge Ihad acquired during the 20’s, 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, 90’s or even the
2000’s?
Before the 1920’s scientists had thought it was only our
Milky Way galaxy that existed, until they invented a larger telescope that
enabled them have a different kind of view of our universe; they now discovered
many more galaxies existed. That it was newly discovered does not mean it had
not been there since. It has always been there but it was found when the way
things were formally viewed was changed.
Do I take my time to update myself? Information is power.
For the reason that the world is in constant motion, everyday things changes
and anyone who remains the same, year after year, season after season, time
after time, would find out soon had become obsolete. The world has moved from
working hard to working smart.
Taking a sincere retrospection: “What is that problem I have
always had the same results each and every time I try?’’ Does it mean I need to
try a different or new approach in tackling the problem? Following the same
route each time leads to the same destination and constants in the journey. But
seeking a new route might shorten or elongate the journey but surely would lead
to new discoveries.
Try new ways today but always stick to doing the right
things; and remember that the ‘’God-factor’’ is a constant that can never be
removed from every success of man.
